FAQ

How would you describe your style?

Family photo sessions should be fun and as stress free as possible. I have a very candid and fast photography style. I will be your director every step of the way with ideas on how to pose, stand, snuggle. I like to get a perfect posed family photo along with photos of each family member laughing together, being playful, loving to remember this moment in time.

What should we wear to a family shoot?

I suggest getting a little dressed up for a photo session. For men, this means a button-down or collared shirt. For women, hair done and wear make-up. For kids – avoid bright neon colors, bold patterns, shirts with writings on them, and make sure the clothes fit well. Although truth be told, kids are always cute no matter what they are wearing - you really can't go wrong.

What if my child is not behaving?

My sessions are designed to be fun, fast moving and very candid. I always try to get the posed pictures done first and then dedicate the rest of the session for candid photos. You will get beautiful shots from your photo session. So don’t worry about your kids, I will take care of everything.

Who will be the photographer at our family session?

I am the main photographer for all family sessions. I also do all the editing, and retouching. I do have an assistant who helps me during the busy seasons with scheduling and day of mini session craziness.
I like to have full control over every session to ensure the highest quality of work for all my clients.

What should we do with our digital files?

Owning the high-res digital files with printing rights gives you the most freedom. You can use the print your images at the lab of you choice for Christmas cards, prints, canvas, photo book, or share your images on social media, the options are endless. The key is not to leave the images on your computer drive where you and your family will not have the chance to enjoy them to the fullest. I want your photos to be all over your house!

How much time should we schedule for a family photo shoot?

The full session runs up to an hour. I will keep shooting as long as we're getting great shots. Most kids have about 30 minutes max of energy (and patience) for family photos depending on their age, so the best shots are often gotten right at the start of the session. That’s why I like to keep the end of the session reserved for candid and un-posed photos.
Mini sessions usually run about 15 minutes. If you have a very shy child who needs extra time to warm up, I suggest booking a private family session instead of a back-to-back mini-session.

When will we see our photos?

Your collection of images will be ready in about 2-3 weeks after your photo session.

What should we bring to the photo shoot?

Make sure everyone has been fed before the photoshoot. It’s always a good idea to bring water and dry snacks for little ones for full sessions. Please, no chocolate or messy hard to eat snacks or candy.

What if our child is sick? What if the weather is not looking so good?

Non-Mini sessions can be rescheduled for the next available date. A 24-hour notice is appreciated if possible. We’ll reschedule based on availability.

Do I have to order prints through you? Should I?

You don’t have to, but you sure can. If printing elsewhere, I suggest using a real photo printing company vs. a supermarket/drug store. The advantage to printing through me - aside from accurate colors, contrast, and a matte finish - is that all prints, enlargements, Art, and other products are always fully finalized.

Do you archive our images?

I archive for one year from the session date. Though I would love to keep everything always, unfortunately changing and imperfect technology make that tricky. If you have suffered a catastrophic loss of your photo library, please let me know and I’ll do everything I can to help.

Can I refer or write a review?

Absolutely! Referrals are the best compliment I could ask for! I’m so grateful for your referrals and reviews.
